I'm so happy you are here! My name is Stacie Kemp, I'm an Iowa girl who married and uprooted myself and business to Chicago, IL. I love family, friends, food, fashion and capturing life's moments involving all of the above!

My love affair with photography began in college. Do you know that magical feeling you get when you wake up Christmas morning? That's the feeling I get every time I photograph, every time I capture the essence of someone's personality, the love between couples and families, the awe and wonder of a child. I'm passionate about my art and about capturing every fun, exciting, silly, fashionable, quiet, romantic and crazy moment of life.

Poe; Chicago Senior Portrait Photographer

AHH, I love seniors!! And I was SUPER excited when Poe contacted me wanting to have her pictures taken somewhere funky in Chicago. I found this amazing spot with tons of cool graffiti and had been dying to go there, I knew it would be just perfect for Poe! We really lucked out with the weather because it turned out to be the only nice day that week (70 degrees instead of 40). We ended the session with some dramatic portraits by the Chicago Skyline at dusk (swoon). I couldn’t think of a better way to end the day.

One thing that really stuck out to me about Poe was that her older sister came with her and they are SO close. It was fun to see them have such a good time together and really makes me wish I had a sister! It was amazing to meet them both, they even wanted to take a picture with me to remember the experience! It was touching and speaks to their character. I know Poe will be doing and accomplishing amazing things in the future and can’t wait to see what’s in store for her next!

Ryaan; Chicago Senior Portrait Photographer

I first met with Ryaan and her family a few months ago and it was a BLAST! Ryaan and her family are so easy going and sweet. It was fun to hear her parents talk about how Chicago has changed over the years and our shared love of Margie’s ice cream. The day of Ryaan’s photo-shoot, we lucked out with the perfect fall weather. Warm, but not too warm. We started out at the Bean and can you believe we captured a photo of Michal Buble signing an autograph (and didn’t even realize it until looking at the photo?!!) I actually had no idea until they pointed it out to me, ha! (He’s wearing the black coat and hat). Celebrities aside, I think Ryaan stood out and absolutely rocked her senior portraits. I’m truly lucky to have such great clients to work with and she is no exception. What especially stood out to me is her confidence, she is definitely going places in life!

Ryaan, thank you for asking me to be your senior photographer and I hope you enjoy your portraits for years to come!

Hodges Family; Chicago Family Portrait and Children’s Photographer

My Nephew turned 1 year old!! I can’t believe the time has flown by so quickly and I bet my brother and sister-in-law feel that way even more so! For his 1 year portraits, we braved the cold and went out to Northerly Island Park near the planetarium for some portraits by the gorgeous weeping willow trees and city skyline. The pictures are SO stinkin cute!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Vanna + Josh; Chicago Engagement Photographer

Vanna and I first met in college while taking a photography class together! We’ve remained friends on Facebook and about a year ago out of the blue, Vanna wrote the absolute SWEETEST note complimenting my photography. I can’t begin to tell you just how much it meant that she took time to write that little note and it’s held a special place in my heart ever since. It’s always wonderful to hear someone compliment your work and especially wonderful when it’s a fellow photographer like her!!

When Vanna contacted me to take engagement portraits of her and her fiance, I was SO ecstatic! I love photographing couples and it was so awesome to meet her fiance Josh. They are truly some of the nicest people and have the sweetest dispositions. We started out taking portraits at the park across the street from their home in Chicago! They wanted to include their sweet pup Penny for a few photographs and it was too much fun watching her play in the park and seeing how much they adore her and she adore them. After the park, we hopped on over to Michigan Ave. for some fun portraits by the bridge! It was crazy busy and they ran into a friend (small world) which made for a fun time. We even got to borrow a sweet motorcycle for some fun shots! For our final stop, we landed at Northerly Island Park and the Skyline view from the Adler Planetarium. Northerly Island is an amazing tucked away park that has gorgeous wildflowers and even a small little beach. Despite the fact there was a wedding at the Planetarium and most of the road blocked off, we quickly ran out by the skyline to snap a few portraits JUST in the nick of time before getting ticketed!! It was quite the adventure and I’ve been dying for them to see how their portraits turned out!!

I’m so happy I got to capture their engagement portraits for them and can’t wait to see what’s in store next!! Enjoy!

P.S. Doesn’t Vanna have the MOST gorgeous blue eyes?!
