I'm so happy you are here! My name is Stacie Kemp, I'm an Iowa girl who married and uprooted myself and business to Chicago, IL. I love family, friends, food, fashion and capturing life's moments involving all of the above!

My love affair with photography began in college. Do you know that magical feeling you get when you wake up Christmas morning? That's the feeling I get every time I photograph, every time I capture the essence of someone's personality, the love between couples and families, the awe and wonder of a child. I'm passionate about my art and about capturing every fun, exciting, silly, fashionable, quiet, romantic and crazy moment of life.

Sehee & Nathan Engagement Portraits; Iowa City and Chicago Engagement Photographer

Sehee and Nathan braved the cold and had engagement portraits taken this past January. Their session can be viewed here. I was so excited they wanted to have portraits taken in the spring as well! We went to one of the most beautiful locations in Iowa City, Harvest Preserve. Harvest Preserve is 100 acres of land that has been restored, preserved and where you can indulge in the awe and wonder of nature.

I’ve known Sehee and Nathan for awhile and one thing I particularly love about the two of them is their playful nature and sense of humor. They enjoy life to the fullest and I think that comes across in these portraits. I love being able to capture that!

Davis Love Story Workshop; Chicago Portrait and Fashion Photographer

This past May I had the privilege to attend one of Bob and Dawn Davis’s Love Story Workshops. It was an amazing two days of learning and fun at the Schaumburg Regional Airport. Bob and Dawn are some of the most talented and generous photographers I’ve ever met in the industry. They truly pour their heart and soul into the workshop so if you are a photographer thinking about going, don’t hesitate!! They are incredibly knowledgable and to top it off, are beautiful, wonderful people.

Here are some portraits I took throughout the day, you can’t beat a fun pin-up themed shoot with vintage airplanes!!

Stephanie + Tyler; Chicago Engagement Photographer

Stephanie and Tyler are some of the most kind and warm hearted people I’ve ever met…and they are so stinkin cute! I instantly felt like I knew them both for years. My hubby came along on the shoot to help take candid portraits and I’m so glad he did because we all really had a great time walking around the city spending time together. One thing we learned on our shoot is that Chicagoans are some of the nicest (and funniest) people around. Their engagment session was a fun adventure and I can’t hardly wait to photograph their upcoming wedding!!

Kim + Landon: Iowa City and Chicago Engagement Photographer

I met Kim and Landon for their e-session at Riverside, Iowa just outside of Iowa City. Riverside has a ton of cool walls and alleys, I was excited they agreed to meet there! It was SO windy the day we got together but otherwise a perfect spring day.

Kim and Landon recently moved to Iowa from California for school. One thing that really struck me about the two of them is how adoringly they look at each other..it made my job so easy! They were up for anything and really had a fun time together, I truly couldn’t have asked for a better couple to photograph. I wish you guys all the best as newly weds!

Forever Green 2011; Chicago Event Photographer

I was so excited to be asked to photograph one of the biggest Saint Patrick’s celebrations in Chicago, Forever Green! This was the 36th annual celebration held in the Grand Ballroom at the Navy Pier with performances from Missing Ted, the Larkin and Moran Brothers, as well as the Irish pipe band the Shannon Rovers and the Trinity School of Irish Dancers! The event is put on by the Young Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago and proceeds benefit YIFC charities. As a newcomer to Chicago, this was definitely one of the highlights of my time here so far.
